In Article 48 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 65 of 2006, business in acts listed in Article 2, paragraph (8), item (xv) of this Act as that Act amended it, concerning rights listed in Article 2, paragraph (2), item (v) or (vi), that a person (other than one deemed registered) was already carrying on when that Act came into effect — other than specially permitted services for qualified institutional investors, etc. (適格機関投資家等特例業務) — limited to rights for which solicitation began before that date.
In Articles 51, 52 and 87 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Ministry of Finance Order No. 53 of 2014, the head of the business office of a financial institution or other such place (金融機関の営業所等) with which bearer bonds and similar securities (無記名公社債等) are deposited for safekeeping, as Article 339, paragraph (3) of the Order for Enforcement of the Income Tax Act (Cabinet Order No. 96 of 1965) refers to that head.
旧法の免許を受けた銀行
In the supplementary provisions (附則) of this Act (Act No. 59 of 1981), a bank that Article 2 of those provisions treats as holding a license from the Minister of Finance under Article 4, paragraph (1) of this Act, because it held a license under the former Banking Act (旧法) when this Act came into effect.

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 63 of 2013, the benefits provided for in Article 130, paragraphs (1) to (3) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act as it stood before that Act, kept in force by Article 5, paragraph (1) of those supplementary provisions; the reserve held to pay them is the reserve for pension benefits, etc. (年金給付等積立金).
三十年一月新法
The Local Tax Act as amended by the provisions listed in Article 1, item 9 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 2 of 2015, which come into effect on 1 January 2018.
A foreign national staying in Japan with a status of residence (在留資格) and registered under the former Alien Registration Act (旧外国人登録法), whose period of stay ends on or after the day the 2009 amending law (Act No. 79 of 2009) came into effect, and who, unless excluded, could apply for a residence card (在留カード) before that day.

A sale of assets or similar transaction under Article 65, paragraph (1) of this Act as it stood before the 2018 amending law (Act No. 7 of 2018), other than a lease transfer, made on deferred payment terms before that law came into effect.
In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 83 of 2014, the Long-Term Care Insurance Act (this Act) as it stood before Article 5 of that Act amended it, counting only the amendments listed in Article 1, item (iii) of those supplementary provisions, which came into effect on 1 April 2015.
In Article 8 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 40 of 2006, a motor vehicle that received temporary cancellation of registration (一時抹消登録) under this Act as it stood before Article 2 of that Act amended it, before the date the provisions listed in Article 1, item (iv) of those supplementary provisions came into effect (一部施行日).

Short name, in Article 10 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 23 of 2008, for the Act on the Arrangement of Related Acts upon the Enforcement of the Act on General Incorporated Associations and General Incorporated Foundations and the Act on Authorization of Public Interest Incorporated Associations and Public Interest Incorporated Foundations (Act No. 50 of 2006).

In Article 112 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 10 of 2014, a consolidated business year of a consolidated corporation that ended before that Act came into effect and was covered by Article 68-15-5, paragraph (1) of this Act as it stood before that Act, but to which neither that paragraph nor Articles 25-3 to 25-3-3 of the former special tax law for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake (旧震災特例法) applied; if it would have qualified under the amended Article 68-15-5, 10 percent of its increase in salary payments (経過雇用者給与等支給増加額) is added to the credit available in the first consolidated business year ending on or after that date.
