Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Transitional Measures Accompanying the Partial Amendment of the School Education Act
第二条（学校教育法の一部改正に伴う経過措置）
The schools for the blind, schools for hearing impaired children, and schools for handicapped children prescribed in Article 1 of the School Education Act prior to the amendment by the provisions of Article 1 (hereinafter referred to as the "Former School Education Act") that exist at the time this Act comes into effect are to become special needs education schools prescribed in Article 1 of the School Education Act as amended by the provisions of Article 1 (hereinafter referred to as the "New School Education Act") at the time this Act comes into effect. In this case, the approval for the establishment of such a school for the blind, school for hearing impaired children, or school for handicapped children under the provisions of Article 4, paragraph (1) of the Former School Education Act is deemed to be approval for the establishment of a special needs education school under the provisions of Article 4, paragraph (1) of the New School Education Act.
この法律の施行の際現に設置されている第一条の規定による改正前の学校教育法（以下「旧学校教育法」という。）第一条に規定する盲学校、聾学校及び養護学校は、この法律の施行の時に、第一条の規定による改正後の学校教育法（以下「新学校教育法」という。）第一条に規定する特別支援学校となるものとする。この場合において、旧学校教育法第四条第一項の規定による当該盲学校、聾学校又は養護学校の設置の認可は、新学校教育法第四条第一項の規定による特別支援学校の設置の認可とみなす。
An application for approval, being made at the time this Act comes into effect under the provisions of Article 4, paragraph (1) of the Former School Education Act, for the establishment or abolition of a school for the blind, school for hearing impaired children or school for handicapped children, for a change of founder, or for the matters specified by Cabinet Order as prescribed in that paragraph, is deemed to be an application for approval made under the provisions of Article 4, paragraph (1) of the New School Education Act.
この法律の施行の際現に旧学校教育法第四条第一項の規定によりされている盲学校、聾学校又は養護学校の設置廃止、設置者の変更及び同項に規定する政令で定める事項についての認可の申請は、新学校教育法第四条第一項の規定によりされた認可の申請とみなす。
