Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect as of the day on which 20 days have elapsed from the date of promulgation; provided, however, that the provisions set forth in the following items come into effect as of the dates specified respectively in those items.
この法律は、公布の日から起算して二十日を経過した日から施行する。ただし、次の各号に掲げる規定は、当該各号に定める日から施行する。

The provisions of Article 5 of the Supplementary Provisions (excluding the provisions amending the row for the Family Register Act (Act No. 224 of 1947) in Appended Table 1 of the Local Autonomy Act (Act No. 67 of 1947)), Article 6 of the Supplementary Provisions (excluding the provisions amending Article 30-9-2, paragraph (1) of the Residential Basic Book Act (Act No. 81 of 1967)), and Article 14 of the Supplementary Provisions (excluding the provisions amending Appended Table 2 of the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures (Act No. 27 of 2013)): whichever is later of the date on which the provisions listed in the preceding item come into effect or the date on which the provisions listed in Article 1, item (ix) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Information and Communications Technology Use Act Amendment Act come into effect
附則第五条（地方自治法（昭和二十二年法律第六十七号）別表第一戸籍法（昭和二十二年法律第二百二十四号）の項の改正規定を除く。）、第六条（住民基本台帳法（昭和四十二年法律第八十一号）第三十条の九の二第一項の改正規定を除く。）及び第十四条（行政手続における特定の個人を識別するための番号の利用等に関する法律（平成二十五年法律第二十七号）別表第二の改正規定を除く。）の規定 前号に掲げる規定の施行の日又は情報通信技術利用法改正法附則第一条第九号に掲げる規定の施行の日のいずれか遅い日
the provision adding seven Articles after Article 120, the provision amending Article 124 (excluding the part replacing "the director of a legal affairs bureau or district legal affairs bureau with jurisdiction over the location of a city office or town or village office" with "the director with jurisdiction"), the provisions amending Articles 128 through 130, the provision amending Article 137 and renumbering it as Article 139 (limited to the part amending Article 137), the provision amending Article 134 and renumbering it as Article 136 (limited to the part amending Article 134) and the provision amending Article 133 and renumbering it as Article 135 (limited to the part amending Article 133), and the provisions of Articles 7 through 10 and Article 14 (excluding the part set forth in the preceding item) of the Supplementary Provisions: the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding five years from the date of promulgation.
