The computation of a time frame is governed by the provisions of the Civil Code on periods of time.
期間の計算については、民法の期間に関する規定に従う。
If a judicial decision specifying a time frame does not specify when the time frame begins, the time frame begins from the time that the judicial decision becomes effective.
期間を定める裁判において始期を定めなかったときは、期間は、その裁判が効力を生じた時から進行を始める。
If the last day of a time frame falls on a Sunday, Saturday, a holiday prescribed in the Act on National Holidays (Act No. 178 of 1948), January 2nd, January 3rd, or any day from December 29th to December 31st, that time frame expires on the following day.
