Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on August 1, 1981; provided, however, that the provisions of Article 2 come into effect on the date of promulgation, and the provisions of Article 5 and Article 6 of the Supplementary Provisions come into effect on October 1 of that year.
この法律は、昭和五十六年八月一日から施行する。ただし、第二条の規定は公布の日から、第五条及び附則第六条の規定は同年十月一日から施行する。

第六条（児童手当法の一部改正に伴う経過措置）
With regard to the amount of child allowance for months up to and including September 1981, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
昭和五十六年九月以前の月分の児童手当の額については、なお従前の例による。
