Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on January 1, 2001.
この法律は、平成十三年一月一日から施行する。

第三条（医療保険制度等の抜本改革）
With regard to the medical insurance system, etc., following the measures to be taken in fiscal year 2000, a review is to be conducted with a view to carrying out fundamental reform, taking into account trends in medical expenses after the enforcement of this Act, the financial situation of medical insurance, changes in socioeconomic conditions, etc., and required measures are to be taken based on the results.
医療保険制度等については、平成十二年度に講ぜられる措置に引き続き、この法律の施行後における医療費の動向、医療保険の財政状況、社会経済情勢の変化等を勘案し、抜本的な改革を行うための検討を行い、その結果に基づいて所要の措置が講ぜられるものとする。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 9Transitional Measures Accompanying the Partial Amendment of the Act on Health and Medical Services for the Elderly
第九条（老人保健法の一部改正に伴う経過措置）
With regard to the amount of medical expenses under the provisions of the Act on Health and Medical Services for the Elderly pertaining to medical care, provision of drugs, or medical treatment provided before the Effective Date, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
施行日前に行われた診療、薬剤の支給又は手当に係る老人保健法の規定による医療費の額については、なお従前の例による。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 29Delegation of Other Transitional Measures to Cabinet Order
第二十九条（その他の経過措置の政令への委任）
In addition to what is provided for in Article 4 through the preceding Article of the Supplementary Provisions, transitional measures necessary incidental to the enforcement of this Act are specified by Cabinet Order.
附則第四条から前条までに規定するもののほか、この法律の施行に伴い必要な経過措置は、政令で定める。
