第二条（薬剤一部負担金の廃止）
With regard to the co-payment prescribed in Article 43-8, paragraph (2) of the Health Insurance Act, the co-payment prescribed in Article 28-3, paragraph (2) of the Mariners Insurance Act and the co-payment prescribed in Article 42, paragraph (2) of the National Health Insurance Act (hereinafter referred to as "co-payment for drugs"), by fiscal year 2002, taking into account trends in medical expenses including the cost of drugs after the enforcement of this Act, the financial situation of medical insurance, changes in socioeconomic conditions, etc., a review is to be conducted on the financial measures necessary to abolish the co-payment for drugs, and it is to be abolished based on the results.
健康保険法第四十三条ノ八第二項に規定する一部負担金、船員保険法第二十八条ノ三第二項に規定する一部負担金及び国民健康保険法第四十二条第二項に規定する一部負担金（以下「薬剤一部負担金」という。）については、平成十四年度までに、この法律の施行後における薬剤費を含む医療費の動向、医療保険の財政状況、社会経済情勢の変化等を勘案し、薬剤一部負担金を廃止するために必要な財源措置に関し検討を行い、その結果に基づいて廃止するものとする。
