Chapter I General Rules
The law as Act on the Arrangement of Related Acts to Promote the Use of Information and Communications Technology in Civil Procedures, etc. (Act No. 53 of 2023) leaves it, with the words it changes marked.
The main text is read a page at a time: a chapter to a page, and a long chapter in runs of articles. The whole main text, and the supplementary provisions and appended tables this amendment changes. Those it leaves untouched are on the page for the text in force.
Procedures in domestic relations cases for adjudication and for mediation (hereinafter referred to as "domestic relations cases") are governed by the provisions of this Act beyond the provisions of other laws and regulations.
家事審判及び家事調停に関する事件（以下「家事事件」という。）の手続については、他の法令に定めるもののほか、この法律の定めるところによる。
Courts must try to ensure that proceedings of domestic relations cases are carried out justly and expeditiously, and the parties must conduct domestic relations case proceedings in good faith.
裁判所は、家事事件の手続が公正かつ迅速に行われるように努め、当事者は、信義に従い誠実に家事事件の手続を追行しなければならない。
Beyond what is provided for in this Act, necessary matters concerning proceedings of domestic relations cases are specified by the Rules of the Supreme Court.
この法律に定めるもののほか、家事事件の手続に関し必要な事項は、最高裁判所規則で定める。
