If more than one person has inflicted damage on another person by a joint tort, each of them is jointly and severally liable to compensate for the damage. The same applies if it cannot be ascertained which of the joint tortfeasors inflicted the damage.
数人が共同の不法行為によって他人に損害を加えたときは、各自が連帯してその損害を賠償する責任を負う。共同行為者のうちいずれの者がその損害を加えたかを知ることができないときも、同様とする。
A person who has abetted or aided a perpetrator is deemed to be a joint tortfeasor, and the provisions of the preceding paragraph apply.
