The government is to carry out the following operations as the Program for Promoting the Protection of Injured Parties, etc.:
政府は、被害者保護増進等事業として、次の業務を行う。
the establishment and operation of facilities for the medical treatment of injured parties, support for the lives of injured parties during medical treatment, support for the nursing care that injured parties receive, and other operations necessary to promote the protection of injured parties;
被害者の療養を行う施設の設置及び運営、被害者の療養生活の援護、被害者の受ける介護の援護その他の被害者の保護の増進を図るために必要な業務
guidance on matters relating to ensuring the safety of operation for persons engaged in the automobile transportation business prescribed in Article 2, paragraph (2) of the Road Transportation Act (including the Type II consigned freight forwarding business prescribed in Article 2, paragraph (8) of the Consigned Freight Forwarding Business Act (Act No. 82 of 1989)), promotion of the introduction of devices and equipment that contribute to preventing the occurrence of automobile accidents, and other operations necessary to prevent the occurrence of automobile accidents.
道路運送法第二条第二項に規定する自動車運送事業（貨物利用運送事業法（平成元年法律第八十二号）第二条第八項に規定する第二種貨物利用運送事業を含む。）に従事する者に対する運行の安全の確保に関する事項の指導、自動車事故の発生の防止に資する機器及び装置の導入の促進その他の自動車事故の発生の防止を図るために必要な業務
The government is to have the National Agency for Automotive Safety & Victims' Aid carry out, among the operations relating to the Program for Promoting the Protection of Injured Parties, etc., those listed in Article 13 of the Act on the National Agency for Automotive Safety & Victims' Aid, Independent Administrative Agency (Act No. 183 of 2002).
政府は、被害者保護増進等事業に係る業務のうち、独立行政法人自動車事故対策機構法（平成十四年法律第百八十三号）第十三条に掲げるものについては、独立行政法人自動車事故対策機構に行わせるものとする。
