Supplementary Provisions, Article 4
第四条
In the case of issuing a special permanent resident certificate pursuant to the provisions of Article 27, paragraph (5), Article 28, paragraph (4) or Article 29, paragraph (3) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Amending Act, the country to which a person's nationality belongs as prescribed in Article 8, paragraph (1), item (i) of the Act or the region prescribed in Article 2, item (v), (b) of the Immigration Control Act (hereinafter referred to as the "nationality or region" in this Article) is to be stated, for a special permanent resident who holds two or more nationalities other than Japanese nationality, notwithstanding the provisions of Article 4, paragraph (2) of the New Regulation, as the nationality or region specified in the following items according to the categories set forth in those items.
改正法附則第二十七条第五項、第二十八条第四項又は第二十九条第三項の規定により特別永住者証明書を交付する場合における法第八条第一項第一号に規定する国籍の属する国又は入管法第二条第五号ロに規定する地域（以下この条において「国籍・地域」という。）は、日本の国籍以外の二以上の国籍を有する特別永住者については、新規則第四条第二項の規定にかかわらず、次の各号に掲げる区分に応じ、それぞれ当該各号に定める国籍・地域を記載するものとする。
in the case of issuing a special permanent resident certificate pursuant to the provisions of Article 27, paragraph (5) or Article 28, paragraph (4) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Amending Act: the nationality or region stated in the registration certificate of the special permanent resident;
in the case of issuing a special permanent resident certificate pursuant to the provisions of Article 29, paragraph (3) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Amending Act: the nationality or region stated in the special permanent residence permit of the special permanent resident (where the special permanent resident has not been issued a special permanent residence permit, the nationality of the country that most recently issued the passport, or the region prescribed in Article 2, item (v), (b) of the Immigration Control Act to which the issuing authority belongs).
