Article 11Provision of Grants to Municipalities and Prefectures

第十一条（市町村及び都道府県に対する交付金の交付等）

Pursuant to the provisions of Cabinet Office Order and within the scope of the budget, the national government may provide the municipality or prefecture with grants to cover the expenses required for the implementation of measures prescribed in a municipal action plan or prefectural action plan.

国は、市町村又は都道府県に対し、市町村行動計画又は都道府県行動計画に定められた措置の実施に要する経費に充てるため、内閣府令で定めるところにより、予算の範囲内で、交付金を交付することができる。

When a municipality or prefecture intends to implement measures prescribed in a municipal action plan or prefectural action plan, the national government is to endeavor to provide advice and other assistance necessary for a smooth implementation of the measures.

国は、市町村又は都道府県が、市町村行動計画又は都道府県行動計画に定められた措置を実施しようとするときは、当該措置が円滑に実施されるように必要な助言その他の援助の実施に努めるものとする。

A plan that a municipality (市町村) may make every five years under Article 8, in line with the guidelines for the formulation of an action plan (行動計画策定指針), for carrying out measures to support raising next-generation children (次世代育成支援対策) in its own work over a five-year term, such as support for childrearing in the area, the health of mothers, infants and young children, an educational environment for children's healthy growth, good housing for families raising children, and balancing work and family life.

A plan that a prefecture (都道府県) may make every five years under Article 9, in line with the guidelines for the formulation of an action plan (行動計画策定指針), for carrying out measures to support raising next-generation children (次世代育成支援対策) in its own work over a five-year term, such as support for childrearing in the area, the upbringing of children in need of protection, the health of mothers, infants and young children, an educational environment for children's healthy growth, good housing for families raising children, and balancing work and family life.
