個人情報（ こじんじょうほう ）
Information about a living individual that either can identify that particular person by a name, date of birth or other identifier or the equivalent (記述等) it contains — including information that can easily be matched with other information and so identify the person — or contains an individual identification code (個人識別符号).
生存する個人に関する情報であって、次の各号のいずれかに該当するもの

Administrative organs (行政機関); organs of local governments (地方公共団体の機関), other than their assemblies; incorporated administrative agencies or other prescribed corporations (独立行政法人等), other than the corporations listed in Appended Table 2 (別表第二); and local incorporated administrative agencies (地方独立行政法人), other than those whose main purpose is research (試験研究) or whose purpose is running universities or colleges of technology or a hospital business (病院事業), as Article 21 of the Local Independent Administrative Agency Act describes that work.

行政機関等匿名加工情報（ ぎょうせいきかんとうとくめいかこうじょうほう ）
In Chapter V, anonymized personal information (匿名加工情報) made by processing all or part of the personal information the administrative entity holds (保有個人情報) that makes up a personal information file (個人情報ファイル) meeting the three conditions of Article 60, paragraph (3) — in outline, that the file is entered in the personal information file register (個人情報ファイル簿), that the documents recording it would on a request under the information disclosure laws or an information disclosure ordinance (情報公開条例) be disclosed at least in part or put to third parties for their opinion, and that it can be processed without hindering the entity's work — leaving out, in outline, any part that would be withheld as non-disclosure information (不開示情報).
次の各号のいずれにも該当する個人情報ファイルを構成する保有個人情報の全部又は一部（これらの一部に行政機関情報公開法第五条に規定する不開示情報（同条第一号に掲げる情報を除き、同条第二号ただし書に規定する情報を含む。以下この項において同じ。）、独立行政法人等情報公開法第五条に規定する不開示情報（同条第一号に掲げる情報を除き、同条第二号ただし書に規定する情報を含む。）又は地方公共団体の情報公開条例（地方公共団体の機関又は地方独立行政法人の保有する情報の公開を請求する住民等の権利について定める地方公共団体の条例をいう。以下この章において同じ。）に規定する不開示情報（行政機関情報公開法第五条に規定する不開示情報に相当するものをいう。）が含まれているときは、これらの不開示情報に該当する部分を除く。）を加工して得られる匿名加工情報
