第八条（検討）
With regard to the introduction of voting by a method using the Internet in elections of members of the House of Representatives or members of the House of Councilors by electors registered in the register of overseas electors, a review is to be conducted, aiming at one year after the promulgation of this Act, taking into account the state of voting under the provisions of Article 49-2, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Public Offices Election Act and from the viewpoint of ensuring the fairness of elections, on matters concerning the means of reliably confirming whether an elector who intends to vote is the person in question, matters to be displayed regarding candidates for public office on the screen of a computer used by an elector for voting and the method of that display, and other necessary matters, and necessary measures are to be taken based on the results.
在外選挙人名簿に登録されている選挙人の衆議院議員又は参議院議員の選挙におけるインターネットを利用する方法による投票の導入については、公職選挙法第四十九条の二第一項第二号の規定による投票の状況を踏まえつつ、選挙の公正を確保する観点から、投票をしようとする選挙人が本人であるかどうかの確認を確実に行うための手段に係る事項、選挙人が投票に用いる電子計算機の映像面において公職の候補者に関し表示すべき事項及びその表示の方法その他の必要な事項について、この法律の公布後一年を目途として検討が加えられ、その結果に基づいて必要な措置が講じられるものとする。
With regard to the form that measures should take to address street speeches for election campaigns and other acts obstructing speeches delivered by candidates, etc. for public office (meaning candidates for public office or persons who intend to become candidates for public office (including persons holding public office)), a review is to continue to be conducted, giving consideration to freedom of political activity, in light of the fact that such speeches are an important opportunity for electors' decision-making, etc., and from the viewpoint of ensuring that opportunity, and necessary measures are to be taken based on the results.
選挙運動のためにする街頭演説その他公職の候補者等（公職の候補者又は公職の候補者となろうとする者（公職にある者を含む。）をいう。）が実施する演説を妨げる行為に対応するための施策の在り方については、政治活動の自由に配慮しつつ、当該演説が選挙人の意思決定等のための重要な機会であることに鑑み、その機会を保障する観点から、引き続き検討が加えられ、その結果に基づいて必要な措置が講じられるものとする。
