Disability benefits are paid as pensions.

If the corporate-type pension plan rules provide that all or part of disability benefits may be paid in a lump sum, disability benefits may be paid in a lump sum pursuant to the provisions of the corporate-type pension plan rules, notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph.
