Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect as of the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding one year from the date of promulgation; provided, however, that the provisions set forth in the following items come into effect on the dates specified in the respective items:
この法律は、公布の日から起算して一年を超えない範囲内において政令で定める日から施行する。ただし、次の各号に掲げる規定は、それぞれ当該各号に定める日から施行する。
the provisions of Article 38, item (iii) and Article 45 of the Supplementary Provisions: the date on which the Act on the Arrangement, etc. of Relevant Acts Incidental to the Enforcement of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Administrative Organs, etc. (Act No. 61 of 2003) comes into effect or the date on which this Act comes into effect, whichever is later;
附則第三十八条第三号及び第四十五条の規定 行政機関の保有する個人情報の保護に関する法律等の施行に伴う関係法律の整備等に関する法律（平成十五年法律第六十一号）の施行の日又はこの法律の施行の日のいずれか遅い日

第四十六条（行政機関の保有する情報の公開に関する法律の一部改正に伴う経過措置）
In the case where the date on which this Act comes into effect is prior to the date on which the Act on the Arrangement, etc. of Relevant Acts Incidental to the Enforcement of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Administrative Organs, etc. comes into effect, with regard to the application of the provisions of Article 36, paragraph (2) of the Act on Access to Information Held by Administrative Organs during the period up to the day before the date on which that Act comes into effect, the phrase "Article 12" in that paragraph is deemed to be replaced with "Article 12, paragraphs (1) through (3)".
この法律の施行の日が行政機関の保有する個人情報の保護に関する法律等の施行に伴う関係法律の整備等に関する法律の施行の日前である場合には、同法の施行の日の前日までの間における行政機関の保有する情報の公開に関する法律第三十六条第二項の規定の適用については、同項中「第十二条」とあるのは、「第十二条第一項から第三項まで」とする。
