第二十条（控訴期間等に関する経過措置）
The provisions of Article 285 of the Code of Civil Procedure After the Article 2 Amendment (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 313 of the Code of Civil Procedure After the Article 2 Amendment) apply to the time frame for filing an appeal to the court of second instance or a final appeal against a judgment in cases pertaining to an action that are filed on or after the Effective Date, and the provisions then in force continue to govern the time frame for filing an appeal to the court of second instance or a final appeal against a judgment in cases pertaining to an action that were filed before the Effective Date.
第二条改正後民事訴訟法第二百八十五条（第二条改正後民事訴訟法第三百十三条において準用する場合を含む。）の規定は、訴えに係る事件であって施行日以後に提起されるものにおける判決に対する控訴期間又は上告期間について適用し、訴えに係る事件であって施行日前に提起されたものにおける判決に対する控訴期間又は上告期間については、なお従前の例による。
