In the case where any of the following items applies, the person who committed the violation is subject to a fine of not more than 500,000 yen:
次の各号のいずれかに該当する場合には、その違反行為をした者は、五十万円以下の罰金に処する。
when, in making the application under Article 18, paragraph (1) or Article 18-2, paragraph (1), the person makes a false statement or conceals facts;
when the person fails to make a report, or makes a false report, under the provisions of Article 40, paragraph (1) (limited to the part relating to item (i)) or paragraph (2), or fails to submit documents or other articles, or submits documents or other articles containing false entries or records.
