申請等（しんせいとう）

In Article 24 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 25 of 1984, an application, notification or other act. That Article treats such an act made, before that Act came into effect, to a Director of a District Maritime Bureau (海運局長), the Director of the Maritime Supervision Department (海運監理部長), the head of a branch or other local office of either (支局長等) or a Director of a District Land Transport Bureau (陸運局長) as made, as a Cabinet Order (政令) provides — or, for one made to such a branch or local office head, an Order of the Ministry of Transport (運輸省令) — to the corresponding Director of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長), Director of the Maritime Supervision Department or maritime branch office head (海運支局長等) under the Acts and orders as that Act amended them.

旧機関（きゅうきかん）

A national government body listed in the middle column of the table in Article 2 of the supplementary provisions of Act No. 26 of 2008, such as the Aircraft and Railway Accidents Investigation Commission (航空・鉄道事故調査委員会), the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency (海難審判庁) or the Central Mariners' Labor Relations Commission (船員中央労働委員会), whose approvals, designations and other acts made before that Act comes into effect count afterwards as made by the body the table puts in its place.

申請等（しんせいとう）

In Article 24 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 25 of 1984, an application, notification or other act made to one of the maritime and land transport officials the Article names. The Article treats such an act made, before that Act came into effect, to a Director of a District Maritime Bureau (海運局長), the Director of the Maritime Supervision Department (海運監理部長), a branch office head (支局長等) or a Director of a District Land Transport Bureau (陸運局長) as made to the corresponding official under the Acts as that Act amended them, as a Cabinet Order (政令) provides, or, for an act made to a branch office head, a Ministry of Transport Order (運輸省令).

海運支局長等（かいうんしきょくちょうとう）

In the supplementary provisions of Act No. 25 of 1984, the heads of the maritime branch offices (海運支局) and other local offices of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局) or of the Maritime Supervision Department (海運監理部), which take over from the branch office heads (支局長等) that were there before that Act comes into effect.

海運支局長等（かいうんしきょくちょうとう）
