第四号施行日（だいよんごうしこうび）

The date the provisions listed in Article 1, item (iv) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 66 of 2016 come into effect, among them Article 3 of that Act, which amended the Defined Contribution Pension Act: a date set by Cabinet Order (政令) within two years of that Act's promulgation (公布, its official publication).

This Act as it stood before Article 5 of Act No. 79 of 2018 amended it.

第三号改正規定（だいさんごうかいせいきてい）

In Article 5 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 32 of 2024, the provisions of that Act listed in Article 1, item (iii) of those supplementary provisions, which come into effect on a date a Cabinet Order (政令) sets within two years of the Act's promulgation.

In Articles 23 and 24 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 83 of 2014, the Long-Term Care Insurance Act (this Act) as it stood before Article 6 of that Act amended it, counting only the amendments listed in Article 1, item (vii) of those supplementary provisions, which came into effect on 1 April 2018.

This Act as amended by Article 2 of Act No. 26 of 2024, counting only the amendments listed in Article 1, item (iii) of that Act's supplementary provisions (附則), which come into effect on 1 October 2025.

旧技能実習第一号活動（きゅうぎのうじっしゅうだいいちごうかつどう）

The activities listed in item (i)(a) or (b) of the Technical Intern Training (技能実習) entry in Appended Table I(2) of this Act as it stood before Article 12 of the supplementary provisions of the Act on Proper Technical Intern Training and Protection of Technical Intern Trainees (Act No. 89 of 2016) amended it.

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 34 of 1985, the Act Partially Amending the Mariners Insurance Act (Act No. 105 of 1965) as it stood before Article 107 of those supplementary provisions amended it; under Article 86, its provisions on who qualifies for a special old-age pension (特例老齢年金) stay in force for people born on or before 1 April 1926 and for certain people already entitled to an old-age or retirement pension the day before Act No. 34 of 1985 came into effect.

第六号新国民健康保険法（だいろくごうしんこくみんけんこうほけんほう）

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 31 of 2026, the National Health Insurance Act as amended by Article 6 of that Act, which comes into effect on the date set in Article 1, item (vi) of those supplementary provisions: a date a Cabinet Order (政令) sets within two years of that Act's promulgation (公布, its official publication) on 5 June 2026.

In Article 7-5 of the supplementary provisions (附則), a category 3 insured period under Employees' Pension Insurance (厚生年金保険) as provided in Article 2-5, paragraph (1), item (iii) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act, which for now is confirmed by the local public servants' mutual aid association.

第二号厚生年金被保険者期間（だいにごうこうせいねんきんひほけんしゃきかん）

In Article 7-5 of the supplementary provisions (附則), a category 2 insured period under Employees' Pension Insurance (厚生年金保険) as provided in Article 2-5, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act, which for now is confirmed by the Federation of National Public Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations (国家公務員共済組合連合会).

第四号厚生年金被保険者期間（だいよんごうこうせいねんきんひほけんしゃきかん）

In Article 7-5 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of this Act, a category 4 insured period under Employees' Pension Insurance (厚生年金保険) as provided in Article 2-5, paragraph (1), item (iv) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act, that is, time a person was insured under Employees' Pension Insurance while enrolled in the mutual aid scheme for private school teachers and staff (私立学校教職員共済制度), which for now is confirmed by the Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation for Private Schools of Japan (日本私立学校振興・共済事業団).

This Act as it stood before Article 4 of Act No. 14 of 2019 amended it.

第三号施行日（だいさんごうしこうび）

1 October 2017, the date the provisions listed in Article 1, item 3 of the supplementary provisions of Act No. 14 of 2017 come into effect — among them most of that Act's Article 7, which amends this Act.
