年金積立金管理運用独立行政法人（ねんきんつみたてきんかんりうんようどくりつぎょうせいほうじん）

An incorporated administrative agency (独立行政法人) that manages and invests the reserves of the Employees' Pension Insurance and the National Pension that the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare entrusts to it under the Employees' Pension Insurance Act and the National Pension Act, and pays the returns into the national treasury, so that both pension schemes run on a stable footing (Act on the Government Pension Investment Fund, Incorporated Administrative Agency (年金積立金管理運用独立行政法人法), Articles 2 and 3).
