If the Superintendent General, the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, or the Chief of a Police Station (hereinafter referred to collectively as the "Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc.") finds that there has been an act in violation of the provisions of the preceding Article and that the person who committed the act is likely to commit the act again repeatedly, the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. may, at the request of the person targeted by the act or ex officio, give the person who committed the act, as provided by the National Public Safety Commission Rules, a warning not to commit the act again repeatedly.
警視総監若しくは道府県警察本部長又は警察署長（以下「警察本部長等」という。）は、前条の規定に違反する行為があり、かつ、当該行為をした者が更に反復して当該行為をするおそれがあると認めるときは、その相手方の申出により、又は職権で、当該行為をした者に対し、国家公安委員会規則で定めるところにより、更に反復して当該行為をしてはならない旨を警告することができる。
If a Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. has given a warning under the preceding paragraph (hereinafter referred to as a "warning"), no other Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. may give a warning to the person who received that warning with regard to the act in violation of the provisions of the preceding Article to which that warning relates.
When the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. has given a warning, the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. must promptly notify the person targeted by the act in violation of the provisions of the preceding Article to which that warning relates of the content and the date and time of that warning; provided, however, that this does not apply if the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. is unable to notify the person targeted because the whereabouts of the person targeted are unknown or for any other reason.
If the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. has received a request under paragraph (1) and has not given a warning, the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. must promptly notify the person who made the request, in writing, of that fact and the reasons for it.
Beyond what is provided for in the preceding paragraphs, necessary matters concerning the giving of warnings are specified by the National Public Safety Commission Rules.
