The committee of experts is composed of three or more members.
鑑定委員会は、三人以上の委員で組織する。
The court designates the members of the committee of experts for each case from among the following persons; provided, however, that this does not preclude designating persons other than those persons if it is particularly necessary:
鑑定委員は、次に掲げる者の中から、事件ごとに、裁判所が指定する。ただし、特に必要があるときは、それ以外の者の中から指定することを妨げない。
persons whom the district court appoints every year from among the persons with special knowledge and experience or other appropriate persons, in advance;
地方裁判所が特別の知識経験を有する者その他適当な者の中から毎年あらかじめ選任した者
persons selected by the agreement among the parties.

Travel expenses, daily allowance, and accommodation fees prescribed by the Rules of the Supreme Court are paid to the member of the committee of experts.
鑑定委員には、最高裁判所規則で定める旅費、日当及び宿泊料を支給する。
