Pursuant to the provisions of a Cabinet Order, the national government is to bear one-half of the amount of the expenses listed in items (i) and (ii) of paragraph (1) of the preceding Article that have been paid by prefectures pursuant to the provisions of the same paragraph.
The national government may, within budgetary limits, provide subsidies for up to one-half of the amount of the expenses set forth in the following items:
国は、予算の範囲内において、次の各号に掲げる費用の十分の五以内を補助することができる。
expenses set forth in items (iii) and (iv) of paragraph (1) of the preceding Article that have been paid by prefectures pursuant to the provisions of the same paragraph; and
expenses that have been paid by municipalities pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (2) of the preceding Article.
