保健所を設置する市（ほけんじょをせっちするし）

A city that sets up its own public health center (保健所), as named by the Cabinet Order (政令) made under Article 5, paragraph (1) of the Community Health Act, whose mayor, like the prefectural governor and the mayor of a special ward (特別区), exercises the powers this Act gives over clinics and birthing centers in the city.

保健所設置市等（ほけんじょせっちしとう）

A city that has set up a public health center (保健所), or a special ward (特別区).

保健所を設置する市（ほけんじょをせっちするし）

A city that sets up its own public health center (保健所) as one of the cities a Cabinet Order (政令) names under Article 5, paragraph (1) of the Community Health Act, whose mayor Article 36 lets a Cabinet Order entrust with part of the prefectural governor's work under this Act.

住宅宿泊事業者（じゅうたくしゅくはくじぎょうしゃ）

A person who runs a private lodging business (住宅宿泊事業) after notifying the prefectural governor (都道府県知事) — or, where a city with a health center or special ward (保健所設置市等) has taken over that work, its head — under Article 3, paragraph (1).

次条第一項の届出をして住宅宿泊事業を営む者

届出住宅（とどけでじゅうたく）

A residence (住宅) covered by a notification, made under Article 3, paragraph (1), that a private lodging business (住宅宿泊事業) will be run in it.

次条第一項の届出に係る住宅

住宅宿泊事業等関係行政事務（じゅうたくしゅくはくじぎょうとうかんけいぎょうせいじむ）

The administrative work under Chapter 2 (except Article 3, paragraph (7)) and Chapter 3 of this Act, on private lodging businesses (住宅宿泊事業) and private lodging management businesses (住宅宿泊管理業), that falls to prefectures (都道府県) or prefectural governors (都道府県知事), and that a city with a health center or special ward (保健所設置市等) and its head may carry out in their place within the city's area.

第二章（第三条第七項を除く。）及び第三章の規定に基づく事務であって都道府県又は都道府県知事が処理することとされているもの

営業者（えいぎょうしゃ）

A person who runs a hotel business (旅館業) under the licence Article 3, paragraph (1) requires from the prefectural governor (or, in a city with a health center or a special ward, from its mayor).

都道府県等（とどうふけんとう）

In Articles 6-13 and 6-14, prefectures, cities with a public health center (保健所を設置する市) and special wards (特別区).

医療安全支援センター（いりょうあんぜんしえんせんたー）

A center that a prefecture, a city with a public health center (保健所を設置する市) or a special ward (特別区) tries to set up under Article 6-13 to handle complaints and questions from patients and their families about medical care at hospitals, clinics and birthing centers in its area, give advice and information on medical safety, train their staff, and give other support needed for safe medical care.
