申請等の行為（しんせいとうのこうい）

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 87 of 1999, an application for a permission or the like, or another act, made under a law's provisions. Article 160 treats such an application or act made under the laws as they stood before that Act (or, for a provision Article 1 of its supplementary provisions lists, that provision) and still pending when it came into effect, where the official who is to handle the matter changes on the day it comes into effect, as done under the corresponding provisions of the laws as that Act amended them, except as Articles 2 to 159 of its supplementary provisions or the transitional provisions of the amended laws, including orders made under them, provide otherwise.

旧事業革新法（きゅうじぎょうかくしんほう）

In the wording Article 2, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 132 of 1999 gives Article 11-3, paragraph (1) of this Act as it stood before that Act, the law cited there as it stood before Article 5 of the supplementary provisions of the 1999 law on special measures for industrial revitalization (産業活力再生特別措置法, Act No. 131 of 1999) abolished it.

承継郵便貯金（しょうけいゆうびんちょきん）

Postal savings of the kinds listed in Article 5, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of the 2005 amending law (Act No. 102 of 2005) that a person with a disability or in a similar position (障害者等) deposited before that law came into effect, whose interest goes on being taxed under the earlier rules.

経過措置調査（けいかそちちょうさ）

In Article 44 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 114 of 2011, an investigation (調査) that began before 1 January 2013 and was still going on, in which the person obliged to submit the records or reports had already been questioned or inspected before that date under the provisions of this Act as they then stood; questions and inspections in it continue under the old rules rather than the new ones that apply from that date.

The part, on or after 1 January 2014, of an instalment period (分納期間) under Article 93, paragraph (4), item (i) of this Act as amended by Act No. 5 of 2013 that began before that date.

経過特定船舶（けいかとくていせんぱく）

In Articles 29 and 42 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 3 of 2023, a specified ship (特定船舶) under Article 11, paragraph (1) or Article 43, paragraph (1) that an individual or corporation acquires on or after the date set in Article 1, item (xii) of those provisions under a contract made before that date; the old rules on special depreciation still apply to it.

In Article 6 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 16 of 2019, the date, set by Cabinet Order (政令) within one year of that Act's promulgation (公布), on which the provisions listed in Article 1, item (vi) of those supplementary provisions come into effect.
