①If the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. receives a request from the person targeted by stalking, etc. for assistance in preventing by themselves the harm from that stalking, etc. and finds the request appropriate, the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. is to provide the person targeted with instruction on measures for preventing by themselves the harm from that stalking, etc. and any other necessary assistance specified by the National Public Safety Commission Rules.

②In providing the assistance referred to in the preceding paragraph, the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. must endeavor to work in close cooperation with the relevant administrative organs or relevant public or private organizations.

③Beyond what is provided for in paragraph (1), the Chief of Prefectural Police Headquarters, etc. must endeavor to take measures for preventing harm from stalking, etc.

④Beyond what is provided for in paragraphs (1) and (2), necessary matters concerning the acceptance of requests under paragraph (1) and the provision of assistance are specified by the National Public Safety Commission Rules.
