With respect to the national health insurance program provided by prefectures, etc., the national government shall, as provided by Cabinet Order, provide adjusting subsidies to prefectures in order to adjust finances in accordance with the financial conditions and other circumstances of the prefecture and the Municipalities within that prefecture.
国は、都道府県等が行う国民健康保険について、都道府県及び当該都道府県内の市町村の財政の状況その他の事情に応じた財政の調整を行うため、政令で定めるところにより、都道府県に対して調整交付金を交付する。
The total amount of adjusting subsidies to be provided pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph shall be the total sum of the amounts listed in the following items:
前項の規定による調整交付金の総額は、次の各号に掲げる額の合算額とする。
the amount equal to nine hundredths of the total estimated sum of the amount listed in Article 70, paragraph (1), item (i) (or, where the provisions of paragraph (2) of the same Article apply, the amount calculated by applying the provisions of the same paragraph) and the amount listed in item (ii) of paragraph (1) of the same Article (in paragraph (1) of the following Article referred to as the "amount for calculation");
第七十条第一項第一号に掲げる額（同条第二項の規定の適用がある場合にあつては、同項の規定を適用して算定した額）及び同条第一項第二号に掲げる額の合算額の見込額の総額（次条第一項において「算定対象額」という。）の百分の九に相当する額
the amount equal to one-fourth of the total amount of the combined sum of the amount to be transferred pursuant to the provisions of Article 72-3, paragraph (1) and the amount to be transferred pursuant to the provisions of Article 72-4, paragraph (1).
第七十二条の三第一項の規定による繰入金及び第七十二条の四第一項の規定による繰入金の合算額の総額の四分の一に相当する額
In addition to what is provided for in paragraph (1), the national government shall, as provided by Cabinet Order, provide grants to prefectures, within the limits of the budget, in order to support the efforts of prefectures and the Municipalities within those prefectures concerning the maintenance and promotion of the health of insured persons, the promotion of efficient provision of medical care and other optimization of expenses required for medical care (hereinafter referred to as "optimization of medical expenses"), etc.
国は、第一項に定めるもののほか、被保険者の健康の保持増進、医療の効率的な提供の推進その他医療に要する費用の適正化（以下「医療費適正化」という。）等に係る都道府県及び当該都道府県内の市町村の取組を支援するため、政令で定めるところにより、都道府県に対し、予算の範囲内において、交付金を交付する。
