第一章 総則
第一条
Medical practitioners are to contribute to the improvement and promotion of public health through the administration of medical care and health guidance, and thereby ensure the healthy lives of the citizens.
医師は、医療及び保健指導を掌ることによつて公衆衛生の向上及び増進に寄与し、もつて国民の健康な生活を確保するものとする。
第一条の二
The national government, prefectures, administrators of hospitals or clinics, universities under the School Education Act (Act No. 26 of 1947) (hereinafter simply referred to as "universities"), academic associations related to medical science and medical techniques, associations of persons with knowledge and experience regarding medical care, and other persons concerned must strive to divide roles appropriately and to cooperate with each other while maintaining mutual collaboration, so as to improve and promote public health and ensure the healthy lives of the citizens, and so that medical practitioners may improve their qualifications.
国、都道府県、病院又は診療所の管理者、学校教育法（昭和二十二年法律第二十六号）に基づく大学（以下単に「大学」という。）、医学医術に関する学術団体、診療に関する学識経験者の団体その他の関係者は、公衆衛生の向上及び増進を図り、国民の健康な生活を確保するため、医師がその資質の向上を図ることができるよう、適切な役割分担を行うとともに、相互に連携を図りながら協力するよう努めなければならない。
