第三号改正前組織的犯罪処罰法（だいさんごうかいせいまえそしきてきはんざいしょばつほう）

In Article 2 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 39 of 2025, the Act on Punishment of Organized Crimes and Control of Proceeds of Crime (組織的犯罪処罰法, Act No. 136 of 1999) as it stood before the amendments Article 23 of that Act made to it that come into effect on the date set in Article 1, item (iii) of those supplementary provisions.

In Article 12, paragraphs (3) and (4) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 50 of 2020, a deemed registered type II service provider (みなし登録第二種業者) that held approval under Article 45, paragraph (1) of the Payment Services Act as it stood before that Act, and is therefore deemed to have notified a trust agreement for security deposits (履行保証金信託契約) under Article 45, paragraph (1) as amended on the day the provisions in Article 1, item (ii) of those supplementary provisions came into effect.

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 4 of 2022, for an information and communications industry promotion area (情報通信産業振興地域) set, on the day before that Act came into effect, in the former submitted plan referred to in Article 4, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of the Act Partially Amending the Act on Special Measures for the Promotion and Development of Okinawa, etc. (Act No. 7 of 2022), the period from that effective date to six months after it, or to the day before a new information and communications industry promotion plan is submitted under Article 28, paragraph (4) of the amended Act on Special Measures for the Promotion and Development of Okinawa, if that is earlier.

In Article 2(3) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 104 of 1999, a specified incorporated administrative agency (特定独立行政法人) as Article 2(2) of the Act on General Rules for Incorporated Administrative Agencies (Act No. 103 of 1999) then defined it, whose own Act (個別法, individual Act), referred to in Article 1(1) of that Act, had already been passed when the Act on General Rules for Incorporated Administrative Agencies came into effect.

老健法第四十八条改正規定中痴呆性老人部分（ろうけんほうだいよんじゅうはちじょうかいせいきていちゅうちほうせいろうじんぶぶん）

In Article 1, item (ii) and Article 7 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 89 of 1991, the part of that Act's amendment to Article 48 of the law on health services for the elderly (老人保健法) that brings beds giving nursing suited to elderly people with dementia (痴呆) within the beds with enhanced nursing (看護強化病床) described there; that part came into effect on 1 April 1992, and Article 7 applies the amended Articles 47 to 50 to it from that date.

In Article 5, paragraph (2) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 31 of 2023, the costs of benefits for medical treatment (療養の給付) and of the other benefits that paragraph lists, given before that Act's effective date to persons who were then special retired insured persons or their dependants (特例退職被保険者等) — health insurance members under Article 3, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of the Health Insurance Act who would otherwise have been retired insured persons (退職被保険者) of national health insurance — under Article 21, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of the National Health Insurance Act as it stood before Article 4 of that Act amended it; where claimed on or after that date, they are treated as borne by the health insurance society they belong to.

平成十一年二月末日までに申告納付すべき土地の取得（へいせいじゅういちねんにがつまつじつまでにしんこくのうふすべきとちのしゅとく）

An acquisition of land made before 1 April 1998, the date Act No. 27 of 1998 came into effect, on which special land holding tax (特別土地保有税) must be returned and paid (申告納付) by 28 February 1999 under Article 599, paragraph 1, item 2 or 3 of the Local Tax Act as amended by Article 1 of that Act, other than one returned and paid, or due to be, by the end of February 1998.

In Article 53, paragraph (8) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 63 of 2013, short for Article 160-2, paragraph (3) and Article 161, paragraph (5) of this Act as they stood before that Act amended them, which Article 61, paragraphs (2) and (3) of those supplementary provisions keep in force, and under which the surviving Pension Fund Association (存続連合会) owed the added amounts of old-age pension benefits and the death lump-sum and other lump-sum benefits that paragraph refers to.

In Article 29, paragraph (2) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 102 of 2002, the fiscal 2002 pre-adjustment estimated medical expense contribution equivalent for a municipality's retired insured persons and their dependants (退職被保険者等): half of seven-twelfths of the special pre-adjustment estimated medical expense contribution equivalent (特別調整前概算医療費拠出金相当額) multiplied by their retired insured persons' enrollment share (退職被保険者等加入割合) before that Act's effective date, plus the pre-adjustment estimated equivalent for the period from that date under Article 14, paragraph (5) of those supplementary provisions multiplied by their retired insured persons' enrollment share (退職被保険者等加入割合) from that date; the two fiscal 2002 equivalents are compared to adjust the fiscal 2004 amount.

In Article 29, paragraph (2) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 102 of 2002, the fiscal 2002 pre-adjustment finalized medical expense contribution equivalent for a municipality's retired insured persons and their dependants (退職被保険者等): half of the special pre-adjustment finalized equivalent for the period before that Act's effective date under Article 15, paragraph (3) of those supplementary provisions multiplied by their retired insured persons' enrollment share (退職被保険者等加入割合) before that date, plus the pre-adjustment finalized equivalent for the period from that date under Article 15, paragraph (6) multiplied by their retired insured persons' enrollment share (退職被保険者等加入割合) from that date; the two fiscal 2002 equivalents are compared to adjust the fiscal 2004 amount.

旧法技能検定員（きゅうほうぎのうけんていいん）

In Article 6 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 43 of 1993, a skills evaluator (技能検定員) appointed at a driving school designated under the earlier wording who is deemed to be a skills evaluator appointed under Article 99-2, paragraph (1) of the Road Traffic Act as that Act amended it, until the person is issued a skills evaluator certificate (技能検定員資格者証).

旧法（きゅうほう）

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of the National Tax Collection Act (Act No. 147 of 1959), the earlier National Tax Collection Act that Act No. 147 of 1959 wholly revised and replaced.

改正法（かいせいほう）

Short name for the Act Partially Amending the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act and the Special Act on the Immigration Control of, Inter Alia, Those Who Have Lost Japanese Nationality Pursuant to the Treaty of Peace with Japan (Act No. 56 of 2023); Ministry of Justice Order No. 37 of 2024 came into effect on the day that Act did, 10 June 2024.

改正法（かいせいほう）

In Article 1 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Cabinet Order No. 253 of 2010, short name for an Act partially amending the Residential Basic Book Act (住民基本台帳法の一部を改正する法律), which that Cabinet Order (政令) names by title alone, on whose effective date that Cabinet Order comes into effect, apart from the provisions its item (i) lists.

指定日（していび）

In the supplementary provisions of Act No. 39 of 1966, the date set by Cabinet Order (政令) under paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of the 1966 Act amending the Customs Act and other laws (Act No. 36 of 1966), from which some of the 1966 changes to this Act (to Articles 16, 21, 23, 30, 33 and 60) come into effect.
