For the purpose of the application of Article 14, paragraph (1) of the Nationality Act in the case where a person who has a foreign nationality has acquired Japanese nationality under Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Supplementary Provisions (limited to a case where the proviso to paragraph (3) of that Article applies), that person is deemed to have come to have a foreign nationality and Japanese nationality at the time of the notification under Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Supplementary Provisions (or, in a case where that notification is deemed to have been made under Article 3, paragraph (1) of the Supplementary Provisions, on the effective date).
