Pursuant to Cabinet Order provisions, the national government shall bear the costs incurred by Societies in executing their affairs for national health insurance programs (including affairs concerning the payment of the young-old payments, etc. under the provisions of the Act on Assurance of Medical Care for Elderly People (hereinafter referred to as "young-old payments, etc."), the old-old aid, the contribution for administrative expenses related to the old-old and the contribution for administrative expenses related to childbirth and childcare under the provisions of that Act (hereinafter referred to as "old-old aid, etc."), the payment under the provisions of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act (hereinafter referred to as "long-term care payment"), the contribution for securing medical care in the early phase of an epidemic under the provisions of the Act on the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Medical Care for Patients with Infectious Diseases (Act No. 114 of 1998) (hereinafter referred to as "contribution for securing medical care in the early phase of an epidemic"), and the children and child-rearing support levy under the provisions of the Act on Support for Children and Child-rearing (Act No. 65 of 2012) (hereinafter referred to as "children and child-rearing support levy")).
国は、政令の定めるところにより、組合に対して国民健康保険の事務（高齢者の医療の確保に関する法律の規定による前期高齢者納付金等（以下「前期高齢者納付金等」という。）並びに同法の規定による後期高齢者支援金、後期高齢者関係事務費拠出金及び出産育児関係事務費拠出金（以下「後期高齢者支援金等」という。）、介護保険法の規定による納付金（以下「介護納付金」という。）、感染症の予防及び感染症の患者に対する医療に関する法律（平成十年法律第百十四号）の規定による流行初期医療確保拠出金（以下「流行初期医療確保拠出金」という。）並びに子ども・子育て支援法（平成二十四年法律第六十五号）の規定による子ども・子育て支援納付金（以下「子ども・子育て支援納付金」という。）の納付に関する事務を含む。）の執行に要する費用を負担する。
