Chapter IV Prohibition on Publication of News Articles
The law as Act on the Arrangement of Related Acts upon the Enforcement of the Act Partially Amending the Civil Code, etc. (Act No. 46 of 2026) leaves it, with the words it changes marked.
The main text is read a page at a time: a chapter to a page, and a long chapter in runs of articles. The whole main text, and the supplementary provisions and appended tables this amendment changes. Those it leaves untouched are on the page for the text in force.
No newspaper or other publication may publish any news article or photograph from which a person subject to a trial and decision of a family court, or who has been prosecuted for a crime committed as a juvenile, could have their identity be inferred from the name, age, occupation, residence, appearance, etc.
家庭裁判所の審判に付された少年又は少年のとき犯した罪により公訴を提起された者については、氏名、年齢、職業、住居、容ぼう等によりその者が当該事件の本人であることを推知することができるような記事又は写真を新聞紙その他の出版物に掲載してはならない。
