The term "hotel business" as used in this Act means the business of operating an inn or hotel, the business of operating a common lodging house, or the business of operating a boarding house.
The term "the business of operating an inn or hotel" as used in this Act means the business of running a facility, receiving lodging fees, and allowing people to lodge there, other than the business of operating a common lodging house or the business of operating a boarding house.
The term "the business of operating a common lodging house" as used in this Act means the business of running a facility mainly consisting of communal lodging spaces and equipment or furnishings shared by many people, receiving lodging fees, and allowing people to lodge there, other than the business of operating a boarding house.
The term "the business of operating a boarding house" as used in this Act means the business of running a facility, receiving lodging fees in increments of at least one month, and allowing people to lodge there.
この法律で「下宿営業」とは、施設を設け、一月以上の期間を単位とする宿泊料を受けて、人を宿泊させる営業をいう。
The term "to lodge" as used in this Act means to make use of bedding when using a facility as referred to in one of the preceding paragraphs.
この法律で「宿泊」とは、寝具を使用して前各項の施設を利用することをいう。
The term "specified infectious disease" as used in this Act means the following infectious diseases:
この法律で「特定感染症」とは、次に掲げる感染症をいう。
a category 1 infectious disease as prescribed in Article 6, paragraph (2) of the Act on the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Medical Care for Patients with Infectious Diseases (Act No. 114 of 1998; hereinafter referred to as the "Infectious Diseases Control Act") (referred to simply as a "category 1 infectious disease" in Article 4-2, paragraph (1), item (ii) and paragraph (2), item (i));
感染症の予防及び感染症の患者に対する医療に関する法律（平成十年法律第百十四号。以下「感染症法」という。）第六条第二項に規定する一類感染症（第四条の二第一項第二号及び第二項第一号において単に「一類感染症」という。）

感染症法第六条第七項に規定する新型インフルエンザ等感染症（第四条の二第一項第二号及び第二項第二号において単に「新型インフルエンザ等感染症」という。）
a designated infectious disease as prescribed in Article 6, paragraph (8) of the Infectious Diseases Control Act to which the provisions of Article 19 or 20, or Article 44-3, paragraph (2) of the Infectious Diseases Control Act are applied mutatis mutandis by a Cabinet Order based on the provisions of Article 44-9, paragraph (1) of the Infectious Diseases Control Act (referred to simply as a "designated infectious disease" in Article 4-2, paragraph (1), item (ii) and paragraph (2), item (iii));
感染症法第六条第八項に規定する指定感染症であつて、感染症法第四十四条の九第一項の規定に基づく政令によつて感染症法第十九条若しくは第二十条又は第四十四条の三第二項の規定を準用するもの（第四条の二第一項第二号及び第二項第三号において単に「指定感染症」という。）
