The NHI federation and designated corporations, in order to ensure the stability of the operation of Old-old Medical Care, in addition to conducting research and study on health services for the elderly conducted by an Association of Medical Care Systems for the Elderly Aged 75 and older, the services prescribed in Article 125, paragraph (5), services for the optimization of expenses required for old-old medical care benefit, and other services (hereinafter referred to as "health services for the elderly, etc." in this Article), and liaison and coordination among the Associations in relation to the implementation of health services for the elderly, etc. (in the case of the NHI federation, including between an Association and a municipality entrusted by that Association pursuant to the provisions of the first sentence of Article 125-2, paragraph (1), and among municipalities so entrusted), must endeavor to dispatch persons with specialized technology or knowledge, provide information, analyze and evaluate the status of implementation of health services for the elderly, etc., and provide other necessary assistance in relation to health services for the elderly, etc.
国保連合会及び指定法人は、後期高齢者医療の運営の安定化を図るため、後期高齢者医療広域連合が行う高齢者保健事業及び第百二十五条第五項に規定する事業、後期高齢者医療給付に要する費用の適正化のための事業その他の事業（以下この条において「高齢者保健事業等」という。）に関する調査研究及び高齢者保健事業等の実施に係る後期高齢者医療広域連合間（国保連合会においては、後期高齢者医療広域連合と当該後期高齢者医療広域連合から第百二十五条の二第一項前段の規定により委託を受けた市町村との間及び当該委託を受けた市町村間を含む。）の連絡調整を行うとともに、高齢者保健事業等に関し、専門的な技術又は知識を有する者の派遣、情報の提供、高齢者保健事業等の実施状況の分析及び評価その他の必要な援助を行うよう努めなければならない。
