This Act comes into effect as of the date specified by Cabinet Order for each provision within a period not exceeding one year from the date of promulgation; provided, however, that the provisions of Chapter III, the provisions of Article 3 and Article 8 of the Supplementary Provisions, and the parts of the provisions of this Act (excluding Chapter II, Chapter III, and the following Article through Article 8 of the Supplementary Provisions) that pertain to Chapter III come into effect as of the date specified in Article 1, paragraph (1), item (iii) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Act Partially Amending the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act, etc. (Act No. 32 of 1976).

The provisions of Article 6 apply in the case where a worker retires on or after the date on which the provisions of that Article come into effect.

The provisions of Article 7 apply in the case where, on or after the date prescribed in the proviso to Article 1 of the Supplementary Provisions, the employer referred to in Article 7 receives a ruling on the commencement of bankruptcy proceedings or otherwise falls under any of the cases specified by the Cabinet Order referred to in that Article.
