Article 104-40Keeping of Accounts

第百四条の四十（帳簿の備付け等）

A registered verification body must, as provided by Order of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, keep account books with regard to the verification and other affairs, enter in them the matters specified by Order of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and preserve them.

登録確認機関は、確認等事務について、文部科学省令で定めるところにより、帳簿を備え、これに文部科学省令で定める事項を記載し、これを保存しなければならない。

In Section 2 of Chapter VI, a person registered with the Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs whom the Commissioner may have carry out part of the work on compulsory licenses (裁定) under Article 67-3, paragraph (1) to use unmanaged works made public, etc. (未管理公表著作物等): receiving applications, checking the requirements and calculating the royalty-equivalent amount.

確認等事務（かくにんとうじむ）
In Section 2 of Chapter VI, Article 121-3 and Article 122-2, item (iii), the parts of the work on compulsory licenses (裁定) under Article 67-3, paragraph (1) and on fixing their compensation that a registered verification body (登録確認機関) may be given: receiving applications, checking whether the work is an unmanaged work made public, etc. (未管理公表著作物等) and whether the applicant meets Article 67-3, paragraph (1), item (i), and calculating the amount equivalent to the ordinary royalty.
