条例事務関係情報照会者（じょうれいじむかんけいじょうほうしょうかいしゃ）

The head or other executive organ of a local government (地方公共団体), named in Personal Information Protection Commission Rules (個人情報保護委員会規則), that handles work set by local ordinance (条例) under Article 9(2) which those Rules specify as work, comparable to specified work using Individual Numbers (特定個人番号利用事務), to be made more efficient by receiving specific personal information (特定個人情報) promptly.

削除情報等（さくじょじょうほうとう）

In Article 41 (and in paragraph (7) of that Article as Article 42, paragraph (3) applies it), the identifiers or the equivalent (記述等) and individual identification codes (個人識別符号) deleted from personal information used to make pseudonymized personal information (仮名加工情報), together with information on how it was processed under Article 41, paragraph (1).

仮名加工情報の作成に用いられた個人情報から削除された記述等及び個人識別符号並びに前項の規定により行われた加工の方法に関する情報

条例事務関係情報提供者（じょうれいじむかんけいじょうほうていきょうしゃ）

A person in charge of work using Individual Numbers (個人番号利用事務実施者) whom Personal Information Protection Commission Rules (個人情報保護委員会規則) name as holding a specific personal information file (特定個人情報ファイル) that records the Specific Personal Information for Use (利用特定個人情報) needed for ordinance-based work under Article 19, item (ix); under that item, the side that provides the information.

当該事務を処理するために必要な利用特定個人情報を記録した特定個人情報ファイルを保有する者として個人情報保護委員会規則で定める個人番号利用事務実施者

The Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会), set up under Article 49, paragraph (3) of the Act for Establishment of the Cabinet Office.

認定個人情報保護団体（にんていこじんじょうほうほごだんたい）

In Section 5 of Chapter IV and in Chapter VI, a body certified by the Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会) under Article 47, paragraph (1), including a certification of a change in the scope of its work under Article 50, paragraph (1), to handle complaints about, and otherwise help ensure, the proper handling of personal or other related information (個人情報等) by the businesses its work covers.

対象事業者（たいしょうじぎょうしゃ）

In Section 5 of Chapter IV, a business handling personal or other related information (個人情報取扱事業者等) that the work of a body certified, or seeking certification, under Article 47, paragraph (1) covers.

認定業務（にんていぎょうむ）

In Section 5 of Chapter IV and in Chapter VI, the work for which a certified personal information protection organization (認定個人情報保護団体) is certified.

記録項目（きろくこうもく）

In Section 3 of Chapter V, the items recorded in a personal information file (個人情報ファイル).

捜査等（そうさとう）

In Article 172, paragraphs (2) and (3), the investigation of a foreign criminal case, once the criminal facts under investigation have been identified, or a foreign criminal trial (審判).

指針（ししん）

In Article 27 and Article 28(3), the guidelines that the Personal Information Protection Commission (委員会) prepares and publishes on the measures those about to hold a specific personal information file (特定個人情報ファイル) should take to manage specific personal information properly, including assessing for themselves the risk and impact of leaks and other incidents (特定個人情報保護評価) and preventing them.

記録範囲（きろくはんい）

In Section 3 of Chapter V, the range of individuals recorded in a personal information file (個人情報ファイル) as identifiable persons who can be searched for without using another individual's name, date of birth or other identifiers or the equivalent (記述等).

外国執行当局（がいこくしっこうとうきょく）

A foreign authority that enforces foreign laws and regulations equivalent to this Act, to which the Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会) may give information it considers useful for that authority's duties equivalent to the Commission's own.
