A financial instruments business operator engaged in type-I financial instruments business (not a foreign corporation) that has notified the Prime Minister under Article 57-2, paragraph (1) that its total assets exceed the threshold a Cabinet Order (政令) sets, other than one whose total assets have since stayed at or below that threshold for two years.
前項の規定による届出をした金融商品取引業者をいい、当該届出をした後第六項第二号に該当することとなつた者を除く
取引情報蓄積機関
A person designated under Article 156-67, paragraph (1) to carry on trade repository business (取引情報蓄積業務).
第百五十六条の六十七第一項の規定による指定を受けた者
A person that has notified the Prime Minister under Article 63, paragraph (2) that it will carry on specially permitted services for qualified institutional investors, etc. (適格機関投資家等特例業務), other than one that has since given notice under Article 63-2, paragraph (3), item (ii) that it has discontinued them.
第二項の規定による届出をした者をいい、次条第三項第二号に該当する旨の同項の規定による届出をした者を除く
A person licensed by the Prime Minister under Article 156-24 to lend members, etc. of a financial instruments exchange, or members of an authorized financial instruments firms association (認可金融商品取引業協会), the money or securities needed to settle margin transactions (信用取引) and other transactions a Cabinet Order (政令) specifies, through the settlement system of the exchange market or over-the-counter securities market concerned.
第百五十六条の二十四の規定により内閣総理大臣の免許を受けた者
An association established under Subsection 1 of Section 1 of Chapter IV, whose purpose is to make the trading of securities and derivatives transactions, etc. fair and smooth and to contribute to the sound development of financial instruments business and to investor protection (Article 67).

In this Act, the authority that supervises each kind of specified business operator (特定事業者) of Article 2, paragraph (2), as Article 22, paragraph (1) assigns it: the Prime Minister (内閣総理大臣) for most financial businesses — banks, shinkin banks, credit cooperatives, insurers, securities and trust businesses, money lenders, funds transfer and cryptoasset exchange service providers — and for certified public accountants; the Minister of Finance (財務大臣) for currency exchangers and tax accountants; the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (経済産業大臣) for finance lessors, credit card companies, precious metal and gem dealers and mail-receiving services; the Minister of Justice (法務大臣) for judicial scriveners (司法書士); the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (総務大臣) for the postal savings and postal life insurance management organisation and telephone-forwarding services; the Japan Casino Regulatory Commission (カジノ管理委員会) for casino operators; the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (国土交通大臣) or the prefectural governor (都道府県知事) that licensed a real estate broker; the prefectural governor for administrative scriveners (行政書士); two or three ministers jointly for labour banks, the Norinchukin Bank and book-entry transfer and electronic claim recording institutions; and, for agricultural and fishery cooperatives and some government-affiliated financial institutions, the authority their own Acts name — with the Minister of Finance (財務大臣) added for some matters by Article 22, paragraph (2) and another authority for some businesses by paragraphs (3) and (4).
