Municipality
市町村（ しちょうそん ）
A city, town or village, together with a special ward (特別区): the bodies that run long-term care insurance (介護保険) under this Act, whose insured persons Article 9 names.

要介護認定（ ようかいごにんてい ）
A municipality's certification that an insured person who wants long-term care benefits (介護給付) is a person requiring long-term care (要介護者), and of the category of need for long-term care (要介護状態区分) the person falls in (Article 19, paragraph (1)).

居住等（ きょじゅうとう ）
Residing or staying (居住又は滞在) at a long-term care insurance facility or a designated service provider giving the services that Article 51-3, paragraph (1) lists (特定介護保険施設等).

特定介護サービス（ とくていかいごさーびす ）
In Article 51-3 and Article 51-4, paragraph (1), the services listed in Article 51-3, paragraph (1) — designated welfare facility services for long-term care (指定介護福祉施設サービス), long-term care health facility services (介護保健施設サービス), integrated medical and long-term care facility services (介護医療院サービス), daily long-term care for residents of a community-based welfare facility for the elderly (地域密着型介護老人福祉施設入所者生活介護), and short-term admission for daily life long-term care (短期入所生活介護) and for medical long-term care (短期入所療養介護) — for whose meals and accommodation a specified person admitted (特定入所者) receives an allowance.

特定入所者（ とくていにゅうしょしゃ ）
In Article 51-3 and Article 51-4, paragraph (1), an insured person certified as needing long-term care (要介護被保険者), of those a Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Order (厚生労働省令) names with regard to income, assets and other circumstances, who receives a specified long-term care service (特定介護サービス) and is paid an allowance for its meals and accommodation (特定入所者介護サービス費).

食費の基準費用額（ しょくひのきじゅんひようがく ）
The amount the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare sets, taking into account the average cost of providing meals at a specified long-term care insurance facility, etc. (特定介護保険施設等; Articles 51-3 and 51-4, paragraph (2)) or at a specified preventive long-term care service provider (特定介護予防サービス事業者; Articles 61-3 and 61-4, paragraph (2)), or the actual cost of the meals where that is lower.

食費の負担限度額（ しょくひのふたんげんどがく ）
The amount the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare sets, taking into account average household spending on food, the income of the specified admitted person (特定入所者) and other circumstances, which is deducted from the base cost for meal expenses (食費の基準費用額) in working out the meal part of the benefit for specified admitted persons (Articles 51-3 and 51-4, paragraph (2), and Articles 61-3 and 61-4, paragraph (2)).

居住費の基準費用額（ きょじゅうひのきじゅんひようがく ）
In Article 51-3 and Article 51-4, paragraph (2), the amount the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare sets, taking into account the average cost of residing or staying (居住等) at specified long-term care insurance facilities, etc. (特定介護保険施設等), the state of the facilities and other circumstances, or the actual cost of residing or staying where that is lower.

居住費の負担限度額（ きょじゅうひのふたんげんどがく ）
In Article 51-3 and Article 51-4, paragraph (2), the amount the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare sets, taking into account a specified admitted person's (特定入所者) income and other circumstances, which is deducted from the base cost for residence (居住費の基準費用額) in working out the allowance for the cost of residing or staying (居住等).
