The court may make a ruling for commencement of guardianship, curatorship or assistance (hereinafter collectively referred to as a "Ruling for Commencement of Guardianship, etc.") under Japanese law where a person who is to become an adult ward, person under curatorship or person under assistance has domicile or residence in Japan or has Japanese nationality.
裁判所は、成年被後見人、被保佐人又は被補助人となるべき者が日本に住所若しくは居所を有するとき又は日本の国籍を有するときは、日本法により、後見開始、保佐開始又は補助開始の審判（以下「後見開始の審判等」と総称する。）をすることができる。
