付加対象期間（ふかたいしょうきかん）

In Article 9-4-10 of the supplementary provisions (附則), a period, not already paid up in additional premiums (付加保険料), in which a person could not pay additional premiums because of a specified reason (特定事由) — an administrative failure — or which Article 9-4-7, paragraph (5) treats as a specified additional premium payment period (特定付加納付期間); the person may report it to the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare.

新国民年金法（しんこくみんねんきんほう）

This Act as amended: in the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 34 of 1985, as amended by Article 1 of that Act; in Article 10 of this Act's own supplementary provisions, as amended by Article 20 of the supplementary provisions of the Japan Pension Organization Act (Act No. 109 of 2007).

男子被保険者（だんしひほけんしゃ）

In Article 2 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 104 of 2004, a man insured under the Employees' Pension Insurance Act, whose average standard remuneration in the previous fiscal year is used to work out a reference amount of the old-age employees' pension (老齢厚生年金).

第五号施行日（だいごごうしこうび）

The date the provisions listed in Article 1, item (v) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 40 of 2020 come into effect: 1 April 2021.

第九号施行日（だいきゅうごうしこうび）

The date the provisions listed in Article 1, item (ix) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 40 of 2020 come into effect: 1 April 2023.

中小事業者等（ちゅうしょうじぎょうしゃとう）

A small and medium-sized business operator (中小事業者) as defined in Article 10, paragraph 8, item 5 of the Act on Special Measures Concerning Taxation, or a small and medium-sized enterprise (中小企業者) as defined in Article 42-4, paragraph 8, item 6 of that Act, as Article 15, paragraph 43 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of the Local Tax Act defined the term before Article 2 of Act No. 3 of 2018 amended it.

The date the provisions listed in Article 1, item 3 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 17 of 2019 come into effect — among them the amendment adding Article 121-3 to this Act — a date set by Cabinet Order (政令) within three years of that Act's promulgation (公布, its official publication) on 31 May 2019.
