Chapter V Junior High School
The law as Act on Measures to Be Taken by School Founders, etc. and Private Education and Childcare Service Providers, etc. for the Prevention, etc. of Sexual Violence, etc. against Children (Act No. 69 of 2024) leaves it, with the words it changes marked.

The purpose of junior high school is to administer and provide regular education provided as compulsory education, in accordance with students' mental and physical development, on a foundation of education in elementary school.
中学校は、小学校における教育の基礎の上に、心身の発達に応じて、義務教育として行われる普通教育を施すことを目的とする。
Education in junior high school is to be provided with the aim of achieving the objectives stated in each item of Article 21, in order to realize the purpose provided in the preceding Article.
中学校における教育は、前条に規定する目的を実現するため、第二十一条各号に掲げる目標を達成するよう行われるものとする。
The course term for junior high school is to be 3 years.
中学校の修業年限は、三年とする。
Matters regarding the junior high school curriculum are to be prescribed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, in compliance with the provisions of Articles 45 and 46, and Article 30, paragraph (2), as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to the following Article as the deemed replacement of terms.
中学校の教育課程に関する事項は、第四十五条及び第四十六条の規定並びに次条において読み替えて準用する第三十条第二項の規定に従い、文部科学大臣が定める。
Provisions of Article 30, paragraph (2), Articles 31, 34, 35, and 37 through 44 apply mutatis mutandis to junior high schools. In this case, the term "the preceding paragraph" in Article 30, paragraph (2) is to be replaced with "Article 46," and the term "paragraph (1) of the preceding Article" in Article 31 is to be replaced with "Article 46".
第三十条第二項、第三十一条、第三十四条、第三十五条及び第三十七条から第四十四条までの規定は、中学校に準用する。この場合において、第三十条第二項中「前項」とあるのは「第四十六条」と、第三十一条中「前条第一項」とあるのは「第四十六条」と読み替えるものとする。
