The chief immigration control officer is in charge of the following affairs.
首席入国警備官は、次に掲げる事務をつかさどる。
Matters concerning the planning and drafting of basic policies on the affairs that immigration control officers are to perform as listed in Article 61-3-2, paragraph (2) of the Immigration Control Act (hereinafter referred to as "enforcement work").
入管法第六十一条の三の二第二項に掲げる入国警備官が行うこととされている事務（以下「警備業務」という。）に関する基本方針の企画及び立案に関すること。
Matters concerning investigation into violations.
違反調査に関すること。
Matters concerning the prevention of violations pertaining to grounds for deportation.
退去強制事由に係る違反の防止に関すること。
Matters concerning the execution of written detention orders and written deportation orders and the escort and repatriation for that execution.
収容令書及び退去強制令書の執行並びにその執行のための護送及び送還に関すること。
Matters concerning procedures for satisfying the requirements for repatriation of persons subject to deportation.
被退去強制者の送還要件具備手続に関すること。
Matters concerning security and safety relating to detention facilities and other facilities where detainees are held.
収容場その他の被収容者を収容する施設に係る警備及び保安に関すること。
Matters concerning the treatment of detainees.
被収容者の処遇に関すること。
Matters concerning the admission and release of detainees.
被収容者の入所及び出所に関すること。
Matters concerning visits and communications.
面会及び通信に関すること。
Matters concerning the carrying, use and management of weapons and the equipment of immigration control officers.
武器の携帯、使用及び管理並びに入国警備官の装備に関すること。
Matters concerning the inspections, ceremonial etiquette and emergency drills of immigration control officers.
入国警備官の点検、礼式及び非常訓練に関すること。
Matters concerning the collection of materials on the control of entry into and departure from Japan and the residence of foreign nationals and on refugees and persons eligible for complementary protection.
出入国及び外国人の在留の管理並びに難民及び補完的保護対象者に関する資料の収集に関すること。
Matters concerning the collection and management of information on enforcement work.
警備業務に関する情報の収集及び管理に関すること。
Matters concerning the operation and maintenance of computers relating to deportation procedures.
退去強制の手続に関する電子計算機の運用及び保守に関すること。
Matters concerning the investigation of facts prescribed in Article 44-9, paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Immigration Control Act.
入管法第四十四条の九第一項及び第二項に規定する事実の調査に関すること。
Matters concerning the investigation of facts prescribed in Article 52-7, paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Immigration Control Act.
入管法第五十二条の七第一項及び第二項に規定する事実の調査に関すること。
Matters concerning the investigation of facts prescribed in Article 59-2, paragraph (1) of the Immigration Control Act (limited to that conducted for the purpose of taking a disposition concerning revocation of the status of residence or a disposition concerning special permission to stay).
入管法第五十九条の二第一項に規定する事実の調査（在留資格の取消しに関する処分又は在留特別許可に関する処分を行うためのものに限る。）に関すること。
Matters concerning notification under the proviso to Article 22-4, paragraph (3) of the Immigration Control Act and service by delivery under Article 61-8-2, paragraphs (4) and (5) of the Immigration Control Act.
入管法第二十二条の四第三項ただし書の規定による通知並びに第六十一条の八の二第四項及び第五項の規定による交付送達に関すること。
Matters concerning the management of mid- to long-term residence of foreign nationals (limited to that within the authority of immigration control officers).
外国人の中長期の在留の管理に関すること（入国警備官の権限に係るものに限る。）。
The areas of responsibility of the chief immigration control officers posted at the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau, the Nagoya Regional Immigration Services Bureau and the Osaka Regional Immigration Services Bureau, and the allocation of the affairs prescribed in the preceding paragraph, are as shown in the following table, respectively.

The chief immigration control officers (planning and management) of the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau, the Nagoya Regional Immigration Services Bureau and the Osaka Regional Immigration Services Bureau are in charge of, in addition to the affairs prescribed in the preceding paragraph, affairs concerning liaison and coordination of the duties of the chief immigration control officers within the bureau.
東京出入国在留管理局、名古屋出入国在留管理局及び大阪出入国在留管理局の企画管理担当の首席入国警備官は、前項に規定する事務のほか、局内の首席入国警備官の職務の連絡調整に関する事務をつかさどる。
