一an application for a change to the status of residence set forth in Article 20-2, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Former Immigration Control Act pursuant to the provisions of Article 20, paragraph (2) of the Former Immigration Control Act, filed by a person residing in Japan with the status of residence of "Technical Intern Training" in Appended Table I (2) of the Former Immigration Control Act (limited to that pertaining to item (i), sub-item (a) or (b) of the right-hand column under "Technical Intern Training" in the same Table) (limited to a person whose period of stay accompanying that status of residence expires by the day on which 3 months have elapsed from the Effective Date), for which no disposition as to whether to grant permission pursuant to the provisions of Article 20, paragraph (3) of the Former Immigration Control Act has been made at the time this Act comes into effect;

二an application for an extension of the period of stay pursuant to the provisions of Article 21, paragraph (2) of the Former Immigration Control Act, filed by a person residing in Japan with the status of residence of "Technical Intern Training" in Appended Table I (2) of the Former Immigration Control Act (limited to a person whose period of stay accompanying that status of residence expires by the day on which 3 months have elapsed from the Effective Date), for which no disposition as to whether to grant permission pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (3) of the same Article has been made at the time this Act comes into effect.
