Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Transitional Measures Concerning Special Permanent Resident Certificates
第三条（特別永住者証明書に関する経過措置）
With regard to the period of validity of a special permanent resident certificate issued before the Effective Date (meaning a special permanent resident certificate prescribed in Article 7, paragraph (1) of the Special Act on the Immigration Control of, inter alia, those who have lost Japanese Nationality pursuant to the Treaty of Peace with Japan (referred to as the "Immigration Control Special Act" in paragraph (3)); the same applies in this Article and the following Article), the provisions then in force continue to govern.
With regard to the procedures for renewal of the period of validity of a special permanent resident certificate issued before the Effective Date for which the date of expiration of the period of validity is set as the day before the 16th birthday, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
施行日前に交付された有効期間の満了の日が十六歳の誕生日の前日とされている特別永住者証明書の有効期間の更新の手続については、なお従前の例による。
With regard to the period of validity of a special permanent resident certificate newly issued where an application has been made for renewal of the period of validity of a special permanent resident certificate issued before the Effective Date for which the date of expiration of the period of validity is set as the day before the 16th birthday, the phrase "fifth (" in Article 9, item (i) of the Immigration Control Special Act as amended by the provisions of Article 2 is deemed to be replaced with "sixth (".
施行日前に交付された有効期間の満了の日が十六歳の誕生日の前日とされている特別永住者証明書の有効期間の更新の申請があった場合に新たに交付される特別永住者証明書の有効期間については、第二条の規定による改正後の入管特例法第九条第一号中「五回目（」とあるのは、「六回目（」とする。
With regard to the obligation to present a special permanent resident certificate issued before the Effective Date, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
施行日前に交付された特別永住者証明書に係る提示義務については、なお従前の例による。
