一a permanent resident: the day on which 3 years have elapsed from the Effective Date (for a person under 16 years of age on the Effective Date, the day on which 3 years have elapsed from the Effective Date or the person's 16th birthday (if the birthday of the foreign national is February 29, the foreign national's birthday in a year other than a leap year is deemed to be February 28; the same applies hereinafter), whichever comes earlier);

二a person for whom the status of residence set forth in the left-hand column of Appended Table I (5) of the Immigration Control Act has been decided and for whom the activities set forth in the right-hand column of that Table (excluding the part pertaining to (d)) have been designated: the date of expiration of the period of stay or the day specified in the preceding item, whichever comes earlier;

三a person other than those set forth in the preceding two items: the date of expiration of the period of stay (for a person under 16 years of age on the Effective Date, the date of expiration of the period of stay or the person's 16th birthday, whichever comes earlier).
