**第一項**  警察官は、通報等により配偶者からの暴力が行われていると認めるときは、警察法（昭和二十九年法律第百六十二号）、警察官職務執行法（昭和二十三年法律第百三十六号）その他の法令の定めるところにより、暴力の制止、被害者の保護その他の配偶者からの暴力による被害の発生を防止するために必要な措置を講ずるよう努めなければならない。

If a police officer finds that spousal violence has been committed based on a notification or other means, pursuant to the provisions of the Police Act (Act No. 162 of 1954), Police Duties Execution Act (Act No. 136 of 1948), and other laws and regulations, the officer must endeavor to take necessary measures to stop the violence, protect the victim, and otherwise prevent harm caused by spousal violence.
