**第一項**  住所地市町村長は、次の各号に掲げる場合には、当該各号に定める事項（次項及び第三項において「通称の記載及び削除に関する事項」という。）を当該外国人住民に係る住民票に記載をしなければならない。

In the cases listed in the following items, the mayor of the municipality of domicile must enter the matters specified in each of those items (referred to as "matters concerning the entry and deletion of a commonly used name" in the following paragraph and paragraph (3)) in the certificate of residence for the foreign resident:

With regard to the application of Article 23, paragraph (2) and Article 24-3 as applied following a deemed replacement of terms pursuant to Article 30-21 in the case where matters concerning the entry and deletion of a commonly used name are entered in the certificate of residence for a foreign resident, the phrase "and the matters listed in the right-hand column of the table in that Article" in Article 23, paragraph (2) as applied following a deemed replacement of terms pursuant to Article 30-21 is deemed to be replaced with ", the matters listed in the right-hand column of the table in that Article, and matters concerning the entry and deletion of a commonly used name (meaning matters concerning the entry and deletion of a commonly used name prescribed in Article 30-17, paragraph (1); the same applies in Article 24-3)", and the phrase "and the matters listed in the right-hand column of the table in that Article" in Article 24-3 as applied following a deemed replacement of terms pursuant to Article 30-21 is deemed to be replaced with ", the matters listed in the right-hand column of the table in that Article, and matters concerning the entry and deletion of a commonly used name".
