  **第一項**  主任審査官は、次の各号に掲げる事由のいずれかにより退去強制を受ける者を第五十三条に規定する送還先に送還することが困難である場合において、相当と認めるときは、その者に対し、相当の期間を定めて、本邦からの退去を命ずることができる。この場合においては、あらかじめその者の意見を聴かなければならない。

  If it is difficult to send a person subject to deportation to the destination of deportation prescribed in Article 53 due to any of the grounds set forth in the following items, the supervising immigration inspector may, when finding it appropriate, order the person to depart from Japan within a reasonable period set by the inspector.
